What are some high protein food choices to help increase my metabolism?

I have a really low metabolism and am over weight. I need to lose weight in a quick and healthy fashion.

I heard that increasing protein and decreasing carbs will help me to establish and maintain a decent metabolic rate.

What are some high protein choices I could go with?

    Grilled chicken, fish, tofu, beans, Peanut butter. But also make sure you get some healthy carbs in your diet like whole grains, fruits and veggies. Also drink plenty of water bc when you are dehydrated it causes your fat cells to enlarge, so when you supply your body with a good amount of water thoughout the day, you flush out the toxins and your fat cells decrease.

    any meat, has a lot of protein.
    bread.
    potato.
    tofu.
    nutmeat.
    milk.
    cheese.
    special k cereal.

    they are all pretty high in protein (i’m a vegetarian so I have to make sure I eat enough protein, but not in meat).
    also, you can buy protein bars or protein shakes if you’re still not getting enough.

    drink decaffeinated green tea
    also buy and take a …super B complex vitamin….this is the best for boosting your metabolism……flax seed oil is good too…..and exercises is the best thing to get things reved up…have fun….

    also…no sugar or starches of any kind….starch turns to sugar in the body….brown berry makes a wonderful low carb bread if you want a piece of toast or a sandwich….no caffeine, it spikes you blood sugar…..limit diet drinks to one or two a day, other wise crystal lite had great drink mixes…no carbs and won’t give you gas….you will have to do some research…there is a lot to this, but the end results are worth it….have fun……

    If you’re interested in this idea, look for an Atkins book. You can get his “New Diet Revolution” used from Amazon for about nothing.

    What you want with this idea is protein and fat - and no carbohydrates, or very very few. Been doing this for the last few years. It’s really nice.

    Protein foods are explained in his book - they are meat, cheese, eggs, nuts. Eat what you need of these. Along with this you can have green leafy vegetables, broccoli and cauliflower, some squashes. But you’ll have to read the book to get the real list.

    What you don’t eat are any grains like wheat, rice, oats - no potatoes, no carrots, no beans.

    Lots of water - it’s not bad - maybe a little odd at first.
